What should a Normal Blood Pressure read? – Causes of High Blood Pressure
Systolic is the top number of a blood pressure reading while diastolic is the bottom number of the same blood pressure reading. Below are the ranges of the blood pressure reading:
- Normal blood pressure reads – < 120 over 80 (120/80)
- Prehypertension blood pressure reads – 120 to 139 over 80 to 89
- Stage 1 high blood pressure reads – 140 to 159 over 90 to 99
- Stage 2 high blood pressure reads: 160 & above over 100 & above
- High blood pressure in people over the ages of 60 reads – 150 & above over 90 & above
A blood pressure that is above or below normal should immediately consult with a doctor for check-up.
High Blood Pressure Are Caused by the Following: Causes of High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure (hypertension) has no specific cause, but over time series of conditions and factors have contributed immensely to the development of hypertension. Listed below are some of the factors responsible for the triggering of high blood pressure:
- Adrenal & thyroid disorders
- Being overweight or being obese
- Chronic kidney infection
- Family history of high blood pressure
- Lack of physical activity
- Older age
- Too much consumption alcohol
- Too much salt in the diet

- Secondary high blood pressure (secondary hypertension)
Essential high blood pressure – Causes of High Blood Pressure
Most of the cases of high blood pressure reported in the United States over 95% has no solid origination. This is the type of cellulite referred to as essential high blood pressure.
Essential high blood pressure has been that mysterious category of hypertension, often times it occurrence is being linked to specific risk contributed factors. Hypertension is some kind of disease that runs in a family linage, men tends to live more with hypertension compared to women. Once the origin of hypertension is being identified in a person, this is categorised as secondary hypertension. The causes of this category of high blood pressure has been identified even before now, they include kidney infection at climax. - Persons who consume too much salt an fatty foods
- A chronic sleeper
